I have been photographing California's Central Valley and North State for well over a decade.
With my combined experience in industry, agriculture and photography, I am uniquely positioned to provide you with photographic services that will meet your needs. I love working in the agricultural and industrial fields and my enthusiam comes across in my photography and in my relationships with my clients.
My goal is simple: make your products or services look as good as they possibly can.
My interest in agriculture began in the late 1970's while living in rural southern California. I received a bachelor's of Science degree from the College of Agriculture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the late 1980's and became a California Certified Organic Farmer in the early 1990's. I was also active in heirloom farming and early sustainability movements at that time. In the late-1990's I went to work for Pacific Gas and Electric, directing the first rural energy efficiency resource center in the country, in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
I have been photographing since I was 17, doing sports photography for my high school yearbook. I moved into doing landscape photography as a hobby, and began selling my scenic images in earnest for stock and editorial use in 2003. Gradually, as I built a portfolio of stunning images of the agricultural lands of the Sacramento Valley, I became more in demand to do agricultural assignment work. From there, I have branched into food photography (to provide a fuller range of services for clients) as well as general industrial work (with an emphasis on sustainable/alternate energy).
I have been providing professional editorial and commercial photography to businesses and individuals in northern and central California since 2003. Though I specialize in agricultural and food markets, I have experience in architectural and industrial photography as well. I also have experience in aerial photography, and can photograph virtually any location in the Sacramento Valley. I have worked with many companies, organizations and individuals in the agriculture field - from small local farmers, to large packing houses, to state and national agricultural commissions. I travel nationally for agricultural work, so even if you are outside California, I am available.
