Photographic Composition Workshop

Time: 12:30-3:30 Lecture, 5:00-7:00 Sundial Bridge (transportation to Redding provided)

Learn the fundamental concepts and techniques of professional-quality photographic composition and then practice them in the field! This workshop includes a three hour lecture on photographic composition techniques by professional photographer Tony Dunn, as well as a fieldtrip to Sundial Bridge , one of the most stunning visual landmarks in northern California .

Lecture

The three hour lecture at CARD will illustrate basic techniques for improving the quality of your photos and will provide you with a solid foundation in professional composition techniques including the center of interest, line, shape, form, texture, visual paths, the rule of thirds, framing the image, as well as other concepts and techniques that will help you take the most interesting, creative,a nd beautiful photos possible.

Fieldtrip

Immediately following the lecture, we will visit Sundial Bridge , one of the most stunning visual landmarks in northern California , in order to practice the techniques and concepts covered in the lecture. Individual attention will be provided to all students. One the way back, each student will receive a review of their best photos.
